January 26, 2024 (Hot Springs, AR) -  Unlimited Resources of Hot Springs is now enrolling for their 2024 Princess Mentoring and Scholarship Program.  This will be the fourth year of working with inner city young ladies and their escorts to promote student success outside the classroom through skill building, mentorship, social activities and education.

The Princess Mentoring and Scholarship program is for young women in 9th through 12th grades.  This year’s program will run from February 15 through July and culminates with a scholarship ball scheduled for June 22, 2024.  Throughout the course of the program, participants attend monthly social, educational and community involvement workshops designed to equip them with enhanced “Life Skills that will last a Life Time.”  Programming includes academic excellence, college and career readiness, leadership development, financial literacy, community involvement, social and workplace etiquette and more.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be entering our fourth year for this program, because I’ve seen the real difference in makes in the bright and promising young women in our community,” said the program’s founder and executive director, Adrienne Cobb-Conley.  “I am also incredibly grateful for the support and contributions from our mentors and sponsors who make this programming possible.”

The Princess program awards more than $3,000 in academic scholarships as well as other awards and recognition each year.  “These awards provide critical support for the educational aspirations of our local inner-city youth,” said Cobb-Conley.  “So far, we have awarded more than $9,500 in scholarships with the average award ranging from $500 to $2,000, and we have students at various colleges and universities across the state.”

“The Princess program is similar to the debutante process, focusing on accomplishments, life skills and lessons that will help young women thrive as they move into college, the workplace and life, in general.  Eighty-five percent of our past program participants are either in college or working professionally.  We are committed to continuing to fill the void and to reaching these targeted and talented students.”

Requirements for participants to be a part of the mentoring and scholarship program are to exhibit the organization’s core values of self-love, discipline and community involvement; be a young lady in grades 9-12 of high school; have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a four-point scale, be single and never married, must not be a mother prior to or become one during the program, must be able to attend workshops and community service projects.
