Oaklawn 2025-2026 Pre-Season Racing Update
Oaklawn Announces Wagering Enhancements for Upcoming Season
Reduced 15% Takeout on Late Pick 3, Daily Double HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Oaklawn Hot Springs today announced a trio of significant updates to its wagering menu for the upcoming 2025–2026 live racing season, highlighted by two new low-takeout bets and the return of a fan-favorite multi-race wager. Starting on Opening Day, Oaklawn will launch two new wagers featuring a reduced 15% takeout, one of the lowest rates in North America, to offer greater value to customers. 1. “Get Out Pick 3” – 15% Takeout ($3 minimum): Each race day will conclude with a new “Get Out Pick 3”, featuring a $3 base wager covering the final three races on the card. The wager is designed to offer players a late-card opportunity with a takeout reduction from 21% to 15% that is designed to increase potential returns. Base wagers on the other Pick 3’s Oaklawn offers is $1. 2. “$5 Late Double” – 15% Takeout ($5 minimum): Oaklawn is also introducing a $5 minimum “Daily Final Double,” linking the last two races of the day. Also featuring a reduction in takeout of 21% to 15%, this new option is aimed at traditional Daily Double players seeking elevated payouts and a streamlined, late-day betting experience. 3. The Return of the Classix Pick 6 – $1 Minimum with Carryover Rounding out the enhancements is the return of the Classix Pick 6, which will cover the final six races each day. The wager will feature a $1 minimum and a generous carryover provision. This traditional Pick 6 wager requires players to select the winner of six consecutive races. If no ticket hits six-of-six, the wager features a 75% carryover of the net pool, which is added to the following race day’s Classix Pick 6 pool. With each day the bet goes unhit, the potential return grows substantially, making the Classix Pick 6 one of Oaklawn’s most exciting opportunities for large payoffs. “We’re simply listening to our horseplayers,” Oaklawn President Louis Cella said. “These additions reflect our commitment to offering a wagering menu that is fair, competitive, and fun. We are excited to introduce these reduced takeout wagers at the end of the day that will put more excitement into our daily racing programs. The return of the Classix Pick 6 also adds intrigue to every day’s card and should really enhance the days when it offers a sizable carryover. “With these revisions, our wagering menu features perhaps the most aggressive offerings in our rich history,” Cella continued, “and the reduced takeouts give our customers even more value every single race day.” Oaklawn will also continue the Show Bet Bonus, a low-takeout wager for its on-track patrons that began in 2017. Featuring a reduced on-track takeout of 10%, the Show Bet Bonus typically generates higher show payouts on track when compared to off-track and ADW wagers.
