John McEuen & The Circle Band has been rescheduled
On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, The Entertainment Foundation and Lifelong Learning Institute will present its final show of the 2024 Raising the Curtain series. John McEuen, co-founder of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, brings with him 50+ years of worldwide performing with his banjo, fiddle, guitar, and mandolin. Often referred to as ‘the String Wizard’, he weaves stories of his travels and family life (he has raised 7 kids), taking us through where his musical path has taken him. Show begins at 7 PM at the Woodlands Auditorium. Presenting sponsors are Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and Village Home Care.
In 1971 John initiated the now landmark Will the Circle be Unbroken album, “Circle” is in both the Library of Congress and the Grammy Hall of Fame. John has made over 46 albums (7 solo) that have earned four platinum and five gold records, multiple Grammy Awards and nominations, CMA and ACM awards, an Emmy film score nomination, IBMA record of the year award, and performed on another 25 albums as guest artist. In 2017 John was inducted into the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame.
John’s love of performing has been evident since his teenage Magic Shop days in Disneyland. McEuen’s show takes us ‘behind the curtain’ of the music world that so many of us know of only as listeners and shows us how we have all been a part of it, more than we may know. It all comes to life in an evening of acoustic music in overdrive
