Community Resource Center Serving as Cooling Shelter; Donations Needed
With dangerous heat continuing across our area and triple-digit heat index values expected to return later this week, the Hot Springs Community Resource Center (CRC) remains in Cooling Shelter Mode to provide relief for individuals and families seeking a safe place to escape the heat.
The Community Resource Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is located at 109 Hobson Avenue.
As the number of guests continues to grow, donations are urgently needed to help care for those seeking refuge from the extreme temperatures. The following items are especially appreciated:
Fresh fruit (especially bananas and oranges)
Dill pickles (to help with heat cramps)
Watermelons
Bottled water and Gatorade
Individually wrapped snacks and crackers
Toilet paper
Walmart gift cards for emergency needs
Donations may be dropped off during normal business hours at 109 Hobson Avenue.
