EVENT: 3rd Annual SOUTHERN SOIREE AT THE RESERVE – FUNDRAISING EVENT

MAIN FOCUS / VISION: An elegant evening at the iconic W.C. Brown house, on the stunning grounds of the newly renovated ‘RESERVE’ in Hot Springs. AR. Guests enjoy Southern cuisine inspired cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres accompanied by live music by Gavin Harper. Exclusive self-guided tour of the Reserve’s Main Guest house with access to the first floor, upstairs, and all 6 unique guest rooms. Silent and live auction with high-end items in the greenhouse Conservatory. Professional photo opportunity by Jeff Fuller-Freeman. Valet parking available. 

MISSION STATEMENT: The Sunshine Therapeutic Riding Center (STRC) is an equine assisted therapy organization 501(c)3 that strives to improve the lives of individuals of all age groups, including children with disabilities, through the partnership and therapeutic power of horses. 

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Sunshine Therapeutic Riding Center (STRC) was organized as a 501-(c)3, Aug 26, 2019. (EIN 84-1747932). STRC was the vision of Katja Summerlin who, along with her husband, Zach, wanted her son who has Down Syndrome to have the option of accessing the therapeutic powers of horses. Launched in Spring 2021, STRC offers Hippotherapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Therapy on horseback that utilizes the movement of the horse as a powerful treatment strategy. With recently added programs and new service providers, STRC is now offering Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, mental health therapy while interacting with horses and Equine Assisted Learning that ranges from customizable workshops for personal development, corporate team building, and mindfulness practices. Through this past year, we have witnessed how horses can change lives and achieve goals never thought possible.
