Hot Springs, AR (Feb. 9, 2024) — Oaklawn, Hot Springs will add two additional race days – April 7 and May 5 – to the 2023-2024 Racing Calendar.  The two added race days will help make up for the recent cancellations due to inclement weather.

“We are excited to announce the two additional dates of April 7 & May 5 to Oaklawn’s 2023-2024 Racing Calendar,” said Louis Cella, Oaklawn President. “Thoroughbred racing is the heart and soul of Oaklawn, and adding these days provides even more opportunities for faithful fans to cheer on their favorite horses and for our horsemen to compete for additional purses.”

This decision will support Oaklawn’s horsemen with further opportunities to earn additional purses and provide it’s racing fans with more days to enjoy the best Thoroughbred racing in the country.

The 2024 Great American Eclipse will take place on April 8. The addition of April 7 as a race day comes in conjunction with Oaklawn, Hot Springs’ 2024 Eclipse Infield Event, which offers guests a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to view the total solar eclipse from the infield of Oaklawn’s historic racetrack.
