About

Mid-America Science Museum is Arkansas€™ largest hands-on science center and the state€™s first Smithsonian Affiliate. With over 100 engaging, hands-on exhibits that explore the wonders of energy, matter, life and perception, the museum seeks to spark curiosity and enhance scientific understanding through inquiry, observational skills and discovery learning. Mid-America has been a major source of learning and fun for the community of Hot Springs and the surrounding region since it opened its doors in 1979. Thanks to a $7.8 million dollar grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, Mid-America now features 75 new state of the art exhibits that are included in the new Arkansas Underfoot Gallery, the Bob Wheeler Science Skywalk, with new workshops, video installation exhibits and more. Teachers and students may also view the night sky and go on a tour of the solar system using the best in digital planetarium software. Displayed on a 180-degree screen with superior surround sound, the Oaklawn Foundation Digital Dome Theater provides educational programming for anyone who is interested in learning about space exploration. There is something fun and educational for all age groups at the new Mid-America Science Museum. Experience the changes for yourself and visit www.midamericamuseum.org for more details on booking group reservations, field trips, summer camps, or to get information on becoming an official member.
